Planning your Captiva kayaking adventure should be easy. Find helpful information about rental rates, safety gear, launch access, local routes, wildlife encounters, and what to bring before you arrive.
Your rental includes a comfortable sit-on-top kayak, paddle, properly fitted life vest, launch access, and helpful local guidance. Our team can also recommend scenic routes based on current water and weather conditions.
Single kayak rentals begin at $40, and double kayak rentals begin at $60. Additional time is available for $12 per hour. Contact Jensen’s Marina for current availability and rental details.
Launch directly from Jensen’s Marina & Cottages and begin exploring Captiva’s surrounding waterways within minutes. Kayak rentals are available daily from sunrise to sunset, weather and water conditions permitting.
No previous kayaking experience is required. Our stable sit-on-top kayaks are a comfortable choice for beginners, families, and experienced paddlers. Our team will help you select the right kayak and get ready before launching.
Advance rental requests are encouraged, especially during weekends, holidays, and busy travel seasons. Reserving early gives you the best opportunity to secure the kayak and launch time that work for your plans.
Bring sunscreen, drinking water, a hat, sunglasses with a secure strap, comfortable water-friendly clothing, and shoes that can get wet. A waterproof pouch is also recommended for your phone and personal belongings.
Explore Captiva’s calm coves, mangrove passages, scenic shoreline, and wildlife-rich waters. Manatees, dolphins, birds, and other wildlife may be encountered, but sightings cannot be guaranteed. Always observe wildlife quietly from a respectful distance.
Guest safety comes first. Wind, rain, tides, and changing water conditions may affect launch times or recommended routes. Please check with the Jensen’s Marina team before your rental for the latest local conditions and guidance.
